The WVU School of Nursing RN to BSN program offers graduates of diploma and associate degree nursing programs the opportunity to complete requirements for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree (BSN) online. The RN-BSN program requires an additional 28 credit hours of nursing coursework beyond those taken for the diploma/associate degree. Coursework can be completed in three semesters of full-time study, or six semesters of part-time study. To complete the 120 credit hours required for the degree, students will have to meet all of WVU's general education requirements. The specific number of credits required will be determined after an evaluation of the applicant's transcript, as additional courses may be needed for graduation. The online Regents Bachelor of Arts (RBA) is an innovative, foundational bachelor's degree designed to meet the unique needs of the nontraditional, adult learner. This degree allows students to earn college credit for work, life, or military experience. Furthermore, the program allows adult learners to earn College Equivalent Credits (CECs) for other academic experiences. The program recognizes the fact that many of our students have generally accumulated a wealth of work and life experiences that may be compatible with some of the courses that WVU and other state institutions offer.
