This collection of resources, born from cross-college collaboration, will keep expanding. Through continuous improvement, the WVU Online team strives to elevate our efforts and enhance the learning experience for our students.

WVU Online Course Rubric

As part of our University-wide process of continuous improvement, WVU Online is pleased to share our new Online Course Rubric. This rubric incorporates elements required by federal regulations for online classes as well as best practices for online teaching. It covers both course design and delivery, and is available in several formats to meet the needs of individual instructors or programs:

  • WVU Online Course Rubric Standards
    • Great for printing, taking notes, and quick sharing.
  • WVU Online Course Rubric Google Sheet
    • Great for faculty/instructional designer college or program review of an online course.
    • To use, click 'File", then "Make a Copy" to save a version to your own Google Drive. You can then use that new copy to review an existing course or plan a new one.

As part of our mission to support online instruction, WVU is curating a comprehensive collection of guides, tools, and resources. Developed in collaboration with our University community, this collection is designed to empower our online instructors.
