As competition in sport and other performance settings continues to intensify, optimizing athlete performance has become essential for maintaining a competitive edge.
The School of Sport Sciences, through the WVU College of Applied Human Sciences, has launched an online Master’s program in Sport and Performance Psychology. This program prepares graduates and professionals who are looking to help athletes optimize and enhance their performance in an increasingly competitive landscape. The curriculum meets the coursework standards for the CMPC® credential, and will offer an optional microcredential to support students in accruing mentored applied hours toward CMPC certification. There will also be an optional graduate certificate offered. Graduates will be well-positioned for a variety of roles such as a performance consultant, therapist, or researcher.
Applications are now open, with the first cohort set to begin in Fall 2026.
