Dr. Ashish Nimbarte
Nimbarte’s training and expertise are in the general areas of Ergonomics and Energy Efficiency. In recent years, Nimbarte has developed multi-disciplinary research projects using an E4 (Ergonomics, Energy, Environment, and Economics) terminology that involves close collaboration with regional manufacturing businesses. His research activities have been supported by grants funded by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Alpha Foundation for Mine Safety, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), the United States Department of Energy (DOE) and the West Virginia Office of Energy (WVOE). Nimbarte received the “Outstanding Researcher” award in 2020 from the Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources at WVU.
Nimbarte is an experienced educator. He regularly teaches graduate and undergraduate Ergonomics, Biomechanics, Human-machine interaction and other Industrial Engineering courses. He received the “Educator of the Year” award in 2021 and the “Outstanding Teacher” award in 2014 from the Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources at WVU for his commitment to achieving and maintaining excellence in both teaching and mentoring. Nimbarte’s graduate students are employed in various industries, healthcare facilities and research institutions. Most of his doctoral students are working in academia.
Nimbarte has served in several leadership positions within various professional societies. Currently, he serves as a senior editor and an editorial board member of 5 peer-reviewed Industrial Engineering journals.
