WVU Extension S.T.E.M. Camp

Description: The camp is a one week overnight camp for rising 7th, 8th, and 9th grade students on the WVU Morgantown Campus. The camp will explore scientific concepts that are important for everyday life and focuses on hands-on learning in content areas such as nanoscience, technology, optics, astronomy, energy and propulsion. Students will be guided through activities as they study the science of black holes, calculate their speeds as they ride the WVU zip line, peer inside modern technology to see how it works , conduct experiments with lasers, explore clean energy technology, and investigate the chemistry behind fireworks. Students will also get the chance to meet and learn from WVU faculty and students engaged in a variety of scientific fields.
