Undergraduate Military Tuition Opportunities

WVU is proud to support those who serve by offering a Military Tuition rate of $250 per credit hour for eligible military-connected students enrolled in fully online undergraduate programs. This rate aligns with the Federal Tuition Assistance (TA) program, making it easier to pursue your educational goals while serving.

Eligible Military-Connected Students Pay Just $250 per Credit Hour

To qualify, students must:

  • Be serving on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces.
  • Be approved to use Federal TA through their branch of service.
    • Exception: Active-duty Navy with fewer than 3 years of service time may qualify without TA pending service verification.
  • Enroll in a fully online undergraduate program.

Eligible active-duty service members who are approved to use Federal Tuition Assistance (TA) through their branch of service may qualify for WVU’s reduced undergraduate tuition rate of $250 per credit hour in eligible fully online programs. Some fully online graduate programs offer preferred tuition rates for military-connected students; however, these rates vary by program and are not available for every graduate degree. Contact us to learn about military tuition opportunities for your program of interest.

In many cases, yes. Students may be able to combine Federal Tuition Assistance (TA) with other forms of financial aid, such as federal student aid, scholarships, employer tuition assistance, or VA education benefits, depending on program rules and individual eligibility. We encourage you to complete the FAFSA and speak with our team to understand the funding options available to you.

The documentation you’ll need depends on the military education benefits you’re using. Common requirements may include:

  • Military Tuition Assistance authorization
  • Certificate of Eligibility (COE) for VA education benefits
  • Military transcripts, such as a Joint Services Transcript (JST) or Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) transcript, if applicable
  • Official transcripts from previously attended colleges

Because processing times vary, we encourage you to begin the approval process as early as possible after registering for classes.
