How are you paying for school?
Active Duty
Using Federal Tuition Assistance (TA)
If you’re serving on active duty, you may be eligible to use Federal TA to help pay for your education.
WVU proudly offers a Military Tuition rate of $250 per credit hour for eligible students enrolled in all online undergraduate programs. Eligible active-duty service members, and in many cases members of the National Guard and Reserve using Federal Tuition Assistance, may qualify for this rate after receiving approval through their military education center.

Veteran
Using Your GI Bill® Benefits
Veterans may be eligible to use VA education benefits to help cover tuition and other educational expenses.
The amount of assistance available depends on factors such as:
- eligibility percentage
- benefit program
- length of service
- remaining entitlement
Because every student’s situation is different, WVU’s veterans certification team works individually with students to certify benefits and answer questions throughout the enrollment process.
National Guard and Reserve
Using federal or state education benefits
Many National Guard and Reserve members qualify for a combination of:
- Federal Tuition Assistance
- State education benefits
- GI Bill programs
- Employer tuition assistance

Military Spouses and Dependents
Using transferred or dependent education benefits
Military spouses and dependents may also qualify for education assistance through transferred benefits or other military education programs.
