Successful Connections

When you think about the various student groups within the University, both formal and informal, our first-generation students may not be a group that typically comes to mind. Listen in as we discuss available resources and how first-gen students can make those important connections with faculty, staff, and other first-gen members of our campus community. This group is bigger than what you’d expect. WVU also has several first-gen faculty and staff.

Are you a first-generation student? If neither parent nor guardian has a 4-year college degree from an institution within the US, then you are too!

The Importance of Taking Care of You

Liz Kelly loves the intersection of mental health and technology, working with teens and adults through Talkspace, WVU's new online mental health service. Users of the service are required to set up an account or user profile. Once complete, these profiles will assist Talkspace in matching an individual with a therapist in their state, that specializes in the services they need. Communication with Talkspace therapists is available in a variety of formats: email, audio, or video chats. Hear how this new service will impact our online learners in a variety of ways as they move through life transitions and more.
