Dr. Sean Bulger, Physical Education Teacher Education
Like most professionals in the physical education field, Dr. Bulger was very involved in sports at a young age and throughout his childhood and adolescence. As a young boy in Buffalo, NY, he played almost every traditional team sport there was. Baseball, basketball and soccer–just to name a few–slowly transitioned into cross country and track as he began his college career. When choosing a field of study in college as an undergraduate and master’s student, his decision never wavered. It would be physical education.

Chad Mezera, Director of Online Programs at WVU Reed College of Media
Chad Mezera has served as the Director of Online Programs for WVU’s Reed College of Media since 2005 when the Integrated Marketing Communications Program was in its infancy. Since that time, the program has grown exponentially to become the largest graduate program at West Virginia University. Chad has seen nearly 1,000 students successfully complete the program and has enjoyed watching the industry and curriculum change along the way.
Chad earned his bachelor’s degree in advertising and his master’s degree in Journalism from WVU. After hearing about the launch of the new and innovative IMC degree, he decided to stay and help develop the program. Chad notes that online education and marketing and communications as a whole have changed immensely over the last 15 years but one things remains certain–WVU’s IMC degree is one of the top-ranked Integrated Marketing Communications programs in the United States.
He loves the online learning atmosphere and enjoys adding new and exciting courses to the curriculum as new advancements in technology and other sectors impact the communications industry. His advice to young professionals is to ask questions, learn from mistakes, and to find a job that makes you happy when you wake up each morning.
Dr. Emily Jones, Physical Education Teacher Education
Dr. Emily Jones moved to Morgantown, WV and began her teaching career at WVU in 2009 and has loved the university, the town and Appalachian culture ever since. She received her B.A. in Physical Education from the University of Northern Iowa and earned both her master’s in Physical Education and Ph.D. in Kinesiology from the University of Georgia.
Allison Dagen and Aimee Morewood, Master of Arts degree in Literacy Education
Since coming to WVU in the early 2000s, professors Allison Dagen and Aimee Morewood have been teaching more and more classes online. So when it came time to revamp the reading specialist certification program at WVU, it made sense to make it a fully online program.

Darko Velichkovski, Master of Arts in Music Industry at WVU
As a classical and jazz musician, Darko Velichkovski has performed with celebrities such as jazz clarinetist Pete Fountain and soprano Leontyne Price. Born in Yugoslavia, he began playing clarinet at age seven and came to the United States on a scholarship to Juilliard. After graduating, he toured nationally and internationally for a number of years as a performer while making contacts in the music business and building his management and production skills.
