The online Advanced Master of Arts in Elementary Education degree is offered by the College of Education and Human Services to certified teachers who want to advance their knowledge of content, curriculum, and classroom management. The program serves educators in the elementary (early/middle) school setting.


West Virginia University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. West Virginia University’s Professional Education Preparation Unit is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE). This includes undergraduate and graduate preparation programs for licensure of teachers and those in educational support areas.

  • Have a minimum undergraduate GPA of 2.75

The program is 30 credit hours and all courses are offered online. The degree can be completed in two years.
