Admission

Students are strongly encouraged to complete their Associate's Degree at their local community college. Students who have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours but not an Associate's Degree can apply to WVU as a Pre-Multidisciplinary Studies student using major code 4249. Upon completion of the Associate's Degree, students will switch from Pre- Multidisciplinary Studies status by declaring the Multidisciplinary Studies program using major code 4250. DegreeWorks is a degree audit program and an academic advisement tool designed to help you understand the degree requirements for your major. DegreeWorks takes the courses from your transcript and reorganizes them to show how courses taken at your local community college fulfill the requirements for your degree at WVU.

Note: Students applying with less than 45 credit hours must apply to WVU as a transfer student.

Upon completion of the Associate's Degree, students will switch from Pre- Multidisciplinary Studies status by declaring the Multidisciplinary Studies program using major code 4250.

The application fee will be waived for students entering as a Pre-Multidisciplinary Studies student and then declaring the B.A. Pathway Multidisciplinary Studies degree program as their major. Students transferring to campus programs or other programs will pay the application fee.

Upon acceptance to the program, you will be assigned an advisor. An advisor will contact the student to determine a schedule of courses. Each semester, students will meet by phone or virtually at least once with their advisor to discuss their progress towards the degree and their class schedule for the next academic term.
